Matthew Rees

Former Pontypridd, Celtic Warriors and Scarlets hooker, Matthew Rees, was an integral member of the Wales front row for a number of years, having made his international debut against USA in 2005.

Rees played his part in Wales’ Grand Slam victory in 2008, and was also a squad member as Warren Gatland’s side lifted the Six Nations Championship in 2013.

In 2009, the hooker featured in all three of the British and Irish Lions’ Tests against South Africa, starting the second Test alongside fellow Welsh front-row, Gethin Jenkins and Adam Jones.

In 2014, Rees over-took Garin Jenkins as Wales’ most capped hooker, and has amassed a total of 60 caps on the international stage.
