Head coach David Young revealed he was looking for an improved Blues' performance as he announced the team to play the Gwent Dragons on Saturday.
Naming a side showing two changes from that which beat Ulster a fortnight ago, Young said,
"We have a poor record against our fellow Welsh regions this season and it's time we put that right. Without a doubt our most disappointing displays have been against the Warriors and Dragons at home and the Ospreys away. We competed well in both games against the Scarlets and could have won them.
"This week's game is not primarily about Heineken Cup qualification next season. It's more a case of us showing our true quality against a fine team in Gwent. We are not underestimating the task ahead but we are determined to do well."
The two changes in the side are both in the backs. With Nick Walne injured, Tom Shanklin moves out to the wing. Jamie Robinson, fit again after a hip injury, returns at outside centre. Craig Morgan, also recovered from a dead leg, plays on the left wing.
In an unchanged pack, Rhys Thomas continues at hooker. Young praised him for his play in recent weeks saying, "Rhys is a fine prospect for the future and he retains his place on merit."
