Williams Captains Wales Under 18

29th February 2008

Rhys Williams will captain Wales Under 18 when they break new ground and play their first full international - against England at Worcester on Sunday (kick-off 3.00 pm).

The Blues hooker has the honour of skippering the side on their first outing following a Wales Under 18 XV's 37-7 training match win over France last week.

"These players have worked very hard over the past two months to get the nod for this game," said Wales Under 18 head coach Simon King.

"We have some players out with injury but these boys answered a lot of questions in the training match against the French last week and fully deserve their inclusion.

"After a long training period, it will be great to see the players run out for their first full match as a team on Sunday.

"It will be a big challenge for us to compete with England on their own turf but we're all looking forward to that challenge."

Wales Under 18 will play another Test two weeks later, at home to Scotland Under 18 at Ebbw Vale on Sunday, 16 March (kick-off 1.00 pm).
