Wales trio released for crucial Glasgow Warriors clash

13th February 2019

Cardiff Blues trio Jarrod Evans, Josh Turnbull and Seb Davies have been released from international duty ahead of Saturday's crucial Guinness PRO14 encounter against Glasgow Warriors at Cardiff Arms Park (KO 7.35pm)

Warren Gatland's side have kicked off their Guinness Six Nations campaign with two wins from the opening two rounds of action.

However, with the trio yet to feature in the matchday squads, they have been made available for the vital Conference A duel, as the race for a play-off spot and European qualification heats up.

They will be released following Wales' training session on Thursday and will link up with the National Squad once again on Monday.

Only two points separate Wales' Capital Region from a play-off spot, as they prepare to take on the Scottish outfit for a fourth time this season.

Utility forward Turnbull has featured for the Blues on 18 occasions this season and is amongst the Championship leaders for 'Tackles Made' and 'Lineouts Won'. He has won 10 international caps since his debut against Scotland in 2011, and played twice during Wales' summer tour to Argentina.

Davies made his bow on the international stage during the summer tour to the Pacific Islands, and has ended up on the winning side in all seven Tests he's appearead in.

Evans has a single international cap to his name, which he picked up in the autumn Test win over Scotland, and recently recovered from a shoulder injury. The playmaker has racked up 37 points in his 11 games to date this season.

Meanwhile, Scarlets trio Rhys Patchell, Steff Evans and Leigh Halfpenny have also been released for their clash with Benetton Rugby.
