The first half spoils went to a tenacious Scarlets outfit, with numbers 8 , 9 & 10 firing on all cylinders and instigating many fine moves. A highly resilient Cardiff defence coupled with an excellent back row effort ensured no score for the visitors. As half time approached a penalty to Llanelli on the Cardiff 22 resulted in the impressive 9 finding space and running in under the posts. The never say die attitude of Regan Mahony and Dafydd Manley saw them make a tackle over the line causing the Scarlets 9 to drop the ball. Cardiff immediately bounced back and began to assert themselves. Number 8 Ben Burton made a good break from the base of a scrum, the ruck that followed allowed Cameron Corsi to feed the backs. Good hands and a change of direction saw Mahony round his man and run a full 60 yards for the first score.

Cardiff were dominant in all facets of play. Dylan Palmer, Joe Miles, Sion Parry and Owen Jones all had fine games, Georgi Hall was ever present in attack, allowing the centre partnership of Tom Meehan and Sion O'Brien to show their class. A further Mahony try and brace from the impressive full back James Williams saw the final score at 24 - 0 Cardiff. Man of the match for courageous defence and brilliant counter attack was Rafel Actie.

U11 Vale Schools 31 Merthyr Schools 0

With the sun shining the Vale Schools took on their counterparts from Merthyr on a field that in places resembled the Somme. In spite of the conditions both sides tried to run the ball, but there were many handeling errors by both sides. The Vale forwards had the edge over the Merthyr pack and from a scrum on the 22 the ball was passed to Cai Evans. He made a break but was tackled the ball was picked up by Joe Short who ran in for a try. The try was unconverted 5 - 0 Vale. The Vale forwards continued to dominate upfront but bad handling and good tackling from Merthyr kept them at bay. As the half drew to a close Vale were awarded a penalty 5 meters out and from a quick tap and go Spencer Robinson managed to strech out and score. Try converted by Cai Evans 12 - 0 Vale.

The second half started with th Vale forwards on top. Merthyr picked up their game for awhile but good tackling from the Vale backs kept them at bay, but it was inevitable that the Vale would score again and from a ruck on the halfway line, Joe Short picked up and broke through the defence to race and score his second of the match. Try converted by Cai Evans 26 - 0 Vale. From the Kick off the Vale forwards went on a run that took them as far as the Merthyr 5 meter line, and from the resulting ruck Mitchell Smyth picked up and drove over for the try. The Vale would like to thank Merthyr for travelling for the game and thank the parents who provided the food.
