5th November 2012

Cardiff Blues Supporters' Club took over the Gareth Edwards Lounge at the Arms Park Clubhouse to host their Player of the Year Dinner in aid of their nominated charity Ty Hafan on Saturday.

The event was attended by Supporters’ Club members, Player of the Year for 2011/12 Michael Paterson, Supporters Club Ambassador Chris Czekaj and Blues captain Andries Pretorius, as well as members of the Blues Management Team.

The night was compered by Phil Steele of BBC Wales and after a delicious meal he presided over an auction and raffle which included prizes such as Jamie Roberts’ Wales training shirt, Martyn Williams’ Blues shirt, a signed Sam Warburton Grogg and a one off ODDGODS print of the Blues’ Wales stars.

Catherine Smart, CBSC’s Treasurer said. “It was an extremely successful night, both in terms of enjoyment for all the guests and in the fact that we raised over £3,700 for Ty Hafan. Everyone at CBSC is delighted and we’d like to thank everyone who attended for their generosity in supporting our fundraising, which now exceeds £20,000 since the establishment of CBSC in 2009.”

Cardiff Blues Chief Executive Richard Holland added, “I’d like to congratulate the Supporters’ Club for organizing such a great night.”

“It was a hugely enjoyable night and it’s fantastic that they managed to raise so much money for such a worthy charity as Ty Hafan.”
