Jamie Roberts returns to rugby action for the first time this season having been named on the bench against Northampton Saints.

Roberts injured his wrist on the Lions tour of South Africa in 2009 and underwent surgery on it this summer. Roberts has worked hard in training to recover and is named on the bench, this being the only change from the 23 that faced Northampton last Saturday.

This Sunday’s must win Round 4 Heineken Cup match for the Blues kicks off at 3.00pm. With Cardiff City playing Burnley at home on Saturday at 3.00pm also, stadium staff have been busy clearing the ground of snow ahead of both matches.

Speaking ahead of the match David Young said, “We have to win. If we don’t, we’re out of the competition, but also we have to make sure that Northampton leave with nothing.”

“There are still two games left after Sunday and the Saints have to visit Castres, which is always difficult, and we may have to hope that somebody does us a favour.”

“I believe we have to win our next three games, and if we do, we are still in with a chance of reaching the quarter finals.”

Cardiff Blues v Northampton Saints will be the last match at the Cardiff City Stadium before Christmas and family tickets are available priced at £20 for two adults and two children. Anyone purchasing a ticket will also get a £5 off voucher to purchase a Cardiff Blues shirt.
