Rey Lee-Lo called up for Samoa summer tests

31st May 2017

Rey Lee-Lo has been called up to Samoa's squad for the summer tests against New Zealand, Wales, Tonga and Fiji.

Manu Samoa will kick start their summer schedule with a clash against the All Blacks at Eden Park, in an double-header event that will also include Wales' test against Tonga.

They will then take on Wales in Apia before facing fellow Pacific Islands nations, Fiji and Tonga, in Rugby World Cup Qualification fixtures.

Head coach Namuluaulu Alama Ieremia has called up eight uncapped players to the squad, including Ospreys' Kieron Fonotia.

Lee-Lo, who has won 11 international caps since his debut against Canada in 2014, is looking forward to welcoming his Cardiff Blues team-mates to Apia, and is anticipating an interesting encounter against his regional colleagues.

"We've got the All Blacks first, which is going to be tough, and then we face Wales the week after," said Lee-Lo.

"I'm looking forward to playing against some of the boys, but also to take them around when they get to the island.

"There's a few of the Cardiff Blues boys in there, and you've got Jockey [Matt Sherratt] over there as a coach as well.

"It will strange playing against them, having been on their team all year. I know their games, and they know me so it's going to be interesting to see how we deal with each other's games. It will be good fun."
