Prop star Hobbs ready for Munster match

21st November 2013

Prop star Sam Hobbs has called on Cardiff Blues to back up cup success at the Liberty when they face league leaders Munster Rugby in the RaboDirect PRO12 at the Arms Park on Saturday (kick-off 6.30pm).

Hobbs captained Blues for the first-ever time last Friday as a young side secured an impressive 21-13 victory over Ospreys in the LV=Cup.

The resumption of the RaboDirect PRO12 is next on the agenda as high flying Munster – who have won six out of seven games in the league this term – visit the capital this weekend.

And for Hobbs it is a chance for Blues to break a run of stuttering results and start to climb the table.

“Momentum is key for us,” he said. “We want to build on last week as, at the moment, our season has stuttered a little bit at times. We seem to win one and then lose one.

“We need a big performance against Munster to really back up what happened at the Liberty.”

“We are excited about the game. There is no bigger test than Munster in the Rabo, they have been the standard bearers in this league for a long time.”
