Young rugby players at a summer Glamorgan Sports Camp have enjoyed the chance to meet and play with their idols.

Cardiff Blues stars Faao Filise and Gareth Williams took part in training and a question-and-answer session with over 40 budding sportsmen and women at the Treforest Campus.

Over 800 young people are taking part this summer in Glamorgan Sports Camps, with professional trainers and stars from the Cardiff Blues rugby squad and Cardiff City FC’s first team.

Steve Savage, Glamorgan’s Sports and Business Development Manager, said: “This was a great day for the children and it happened because our relationship with the Cardiff Blues is so strong. It’s a chance for the children to meet their idols and enjoy sport at the state-of-the-art facilities, on the same training grounds as the Springboks, All Blacks and British Lions. We work in partnership with the region’s top sports teams such as the Cardiff Blues to nurture the best in young sporting talent, whether for a career at the top of the professional game or a lifetime’s enjoyment.”
