Open Coaching Night at Arms Park

26th February 2007

Cardiff Arms Park successfully hosted the most recent Open Coaching Night earlier this week with 130 aspiring coaches within the region attending.

The theme of the night ‘Core Skill development and progression’ was applicable to coaches at all age groups and was aimed at the continued development of coaches within the Blues region.

The session conducted by Danny Wilson, Regional Skills Coach, provided each club with a DVD to take away that replicates what is demonstrated on the pitch as well as giving instruction on how to progress the coaching further. The Blues have already held very successful coaching evenings on the subjects of: defensive play, the set piece, attacking play and fitness.

Richard Hodges, the Blues Community Rugby Manager said. “The coaching evenings have proved to be very popular with coaches throughout the region and we had over 100 coaches attending our last event at Taffs Well RFC. The feedback we have received has also been very encouraging with many of the coaches implementing what they have learnt in to their coaching sessions.”
