David Young has named a side that shows 8 changes to the starting XV for the Heineken Cup match against Bourgoin this Saturday.

Ben Blair, Mosese Luveitasau, Tom Shanklin, Mike Phillips, Gethin Jenkins, Rhys Thomas, Robert Sidoli and Martyn Williams return to the starting line-up.

Cardiff Blues can also confirm that Rhys Williams tore the muscle off the bone on his thigh in the match against Ulster and is expected to be out until the New Year. He will have an operation this weekend. Rhys Williams said “It’s very frustrating but it’s part and parcel of the modern game. This will be the first time I will miss the start of the Heineken Cup since I joined Cardiff in 1999. I wish the boys all the best and I’ll be cheering them on 100%. In a way I have been lucky as this is my first long lay off due to injury, I’ve had a couple of niggles over the season but nothing this serious.”
