Jenkins returns to starting line up ahead of final Los Pumas clash

14th June 2018

Ellis Jenkins returns to the starting line-up for Wales' final summer clash against Argentina.

Cory Hill retains the matchday captaincy, but tour co-captain, Jenkins, wears the number six jersey and lines up in the back row alongside James Davies and Ross Moriarty.

Having already secured victories over South Africa and Argentina over the past fortnight, Warren Gatland's side head to Santa Fe looking to secure a 100 per cent record in the summer Tests.

Cardiff Blues' Dillon Lewis, Josh Turnbull and Gareth Anscombe feature on the bench, alongside Tomos Williams, who missed out on selection last week.

Speaking ahead of Saturday's Test match, Warren Gatland has praised Jenkins for his work throughout the tour.

"Both Cory (Hill) and Ellis (Jenkins) have been great on tour as co-captains. This week with them both in the side we have just gone for a bit of continuity with Cory doing the job as he did last weekend," said the Wales head coach.

"Additionally we are asking Ellis to play at six so this allows him to concentrate on that role on Saturday.

"We want to go home three from three but we know the challenge that we are up against this weekend and we also are looking at the bigger picture.

"We might have picked a slightly different team if it was just about results but it is about more than that it is about building for 2019 and we are on the right track."
