WRU take no further action over prop Powell
The WRU Professional Disciplinary Panel held a hearing this evening (Wednesday, 6 January) following a citing complaint against Cardiff Blues prop Gary Powell for an alleged breach of Law 10.4 (b) Dangerous Play (Stamping or Trampling), during the second half of his side's Magners League match against the Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium on Friday, 1 January, 2010.
The citing was not upheld, with the panel deciding the offence would not have justified a sending-off. No sanction was therefore appropriate and the player is free to play with immediate effect.
