Cardiff were worthy winners of this year's national trophy. Captained by the excellent Joseph Miles of Pentyrch, the whole Cardiff squad should take credit for an outstanding, often exhilarating performance.

Swansea took the field brimming with confidence following their win over Pontypool in the semi final, but the Cardiff side had a warm welcome in store!

The forwards provided a solid platform to release the exciting back line. Everytime the ball went wide, Cardiff looked like scoring. A brace of early tries by inspirational wing Regan Mahoney set the scene and ensured the Swansea side were kept on the back foot, starved of any real possession.

Further superb tires from James Lewis, Tom Meehan and the industrious Georgi Hall ensured the game was soon out of sight. Conversions from the reliable boot of outside half Dafydd Manley put the icing on the cake.

It was Sion O'Brien, back from injury, alongside Manley, who ensured continuous seamless possession to the backs, with Rafel Actie looking dangerous with every touch. Sion Williams, James Ford and Ben Fry put in tremendous performances and were a constant thorn in the side of Swansea.

Power house Dylan Palmer, the ever-present Sion Parry and playmaker Morgan Williams were at their best in both attack and defence and instrumental in most of the tries scored.

When the Cardiff bench of Hill, Payne, Ireland-Life, Burton, Strinati, Newsome and James were introduced, it looked as if the flood gates would open, but a truly courageous Swansea side refused to lie down. Following quick ruck ball and slick handling, the inside centre found space. He split the Cardiff defence to run in under the posts. It was, however, too little too late and Cardiff lifted the trophy for the sixth time since 2000!

Congratulations to all involved!!!!!
