Cardiff Metropolitan University were crowed double winners as they took top honours in both the men's and women's competition at the WRW Construction University Cup at the home of Cardiff Blues.
Over 500 fans were at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park for the annual all-day festival of rugby on Wednesday as Cardiff Metropolitan, Cardiff University, USW and Cardiff Medicals all battled it out on the stadium pitch.
Cardiff Metropolitan University won the women’s tournament as they defeated USW 15-0 and Cardiff University 5-0. Cardiff University took second place after defeating USW 12-0 in the round robin competition.
The first men’s semi-final saw Cardiff Metropolitan University claim a place in the final with a 17-3 over Cardiff University before the second semi-final saw USW edge out Cardiff Medicals.
The final saw Cardiff Metropolitan University really turn on the style as they convincingly won 57-0 to claim the WRW Construction University Cup for 2016.
