Cardiff Blues pledge 5,000 free tickets to the NHS

First Team News | 3rd April 2020

Cardiff Blues are delighted to pledge 5,000 free tickets to NHS staff fighting COVID-19 when rugby returns to the Arms Park.

Rugby has drawn to a halt due to the global pandemic of coronavirus with the Guinness PRO14 currently suspended indefinitely and the country observing a Government-led lockdown.

The Blues have implemented a number of initiatives to support the community at this difficult time and the Arms Park is also likely to be utilised in the NHS plans at the Principality Stadium.

Now Wales’ Capital Region want to express their gratitude to NHS workers with the pledge of at least 5,000 free tickets to those bravely fighting the outbreak.

Cardiff Blues chief executive Richard Holland said: “These are unprecedented and uncertain times for all of but one thing that is certain is our admiration and gratitude to those who are currently working in the NHS.

“Some of our own medical staff are working on the front-line and many of us have family members doing the same.

“The bravery, selflessness and professionalism of those working in the NHS is an inspiration to all of us and we wanted to do something to thank them for their efforts.

“This is a small gesture of our gratitude towards them and on behalf of all of us at Cardiff Blues, and indeed the entire Cardiff Blues family, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to them and encourage you all to adhere to all the current Government advice.”

The offer is available to all NHS staff working in the Cardiff Blues region - Cardiff and Vale University Health Board and Cwm Taf Health Board - and includes all games except Welsh derbies. Further details of how you can claim your complimentary ticket will be released on our website in due course.
