The Blues under 18s missed out on an opportunity to secure their place in the final of the WRU Regional Championships by going down to the Scarlets at Llanharan last night.
The Blues led the Scarlets 10-3 at the interval, but went down 24-17 thanks to tries from Matthew Lemon and Rhys Williams plus 14 points from the boot of Daniel Evans.
Sam Warburton and Phil Williams crossed for tries for the Blues as they held the upperhand throughout the first half and James Thomas added a brace of conversions and a penalty to leave the hosts in front.
However, the Scarlets struck back to gain the honours and leave the Blues with just a bonus point to show for their efforts.
