Blues v Edinburgh - Fixture Confirmation

27th March 2007

Cardiff Blues have received confirmation that their Magners League match against Edinburgh at the Arms Park will be played on Saturday 14th April kick off 4.10pm.

Having already beaten the Scottish outfit by 23 points to 13 when they played them in November the Blues will be keen to get one up on Lynn Howells’s men once more to move in to the top four positions of the league. With games in hand on the teams above them and still to face Leinster, Ulster and the Scarlets before the end of season, the run in is sure to be a tense affair.

Supporters are reminded that the game against Edinburgh will be the first Cardiff Blues match to be played at the Arms Park as a no smoking venue as the new law banning smoking in enclosed public places comes into force on the 2nd of April. Supporters will not be permitted to smoke on the terraces or in the stand areas of the ground.

Speaking ahead of the new smoking law Cardiff Arms Park Clubhouse Manager, Karl Williams said “We have listened to our staff and our supporters with regards to the ban and have provided designated smoking areas around the ground.”

Cardiff Blues star Ben Blair was at the ground earlier in the day to help to get the message across that smoking in the Arms Park has been kicked in to touch.
