Blues South v Newport Gwent Dragons U16

16th January 2007

Penarth RFC have advised Cardiff Blues Regional Performance Manager Gafyn Cooper that there is still a dangerous amount of standing water on their pitch ahead of the scheduled Blues South U16s gane against Dragons tomorrow evening (Wednesday 17th January).

Since the weather forecast for tomorrow predicts rain this game has been postponed, with a new date set to be arranged this week.

RESULT FROM LAST NIGHT –

WRU Reebok Championships - Ospreys 8 Blues North 17 played at Llandarcy Academy of Sport.

Blues North retained their unbeaten record of 7 consecutive wins by disposing of their nearest rivals, Ospreys by 17 pts to 8 at Llandarcy Academy of Sport last night.

The Blues North were comfortable winners after taking an early lead from a try by no 8 Aaron Atkins and a conversion and penalty by the outstanding Dean Gunter.

The Ospreys hit back with unconverted try before the break, but the Blues totally dominated the second half and scored a further try through the impressive Gunter, which he converted.

Blues RPM Gafyn Cooper was impressed with both teams efforts to play a running game on a heavy pitch.

Blues North still have to wait who to see who they meet in the final of the U16 competition on 28th February.
