Blues North U18s defeated as Scarlets U18s march on

5th January 2018

Scarlets Under-18s maintained their 100 per cent record in the WRU Regional Age-Grade Championship with a 41-19 victory over Cardiff Blues North at Sardis Road.

The West Walians went into the encounter on the back of four victories in the first block of fixtures and they carried on from where they left off in Pontypridd.

It took the Scarlets just one minute to claim their opening try but Blues North quickly hit back with a Liam Lloyd try, which Rhys Davies converted to take the lead.

But that was to be the last time Blues North were in front as the Scarlets claimed six more tries.

Fly-half Davies and Cian Lewis-Hughes, the younger brother of Shane Lewis-Hughes, both crossed the whitewash for the home side but it was not enough.

Blues North are back in action against their regional counterparts Blues South at Sardis Road on Tuesday night.

Blues South Under-18s kick-off their latest block of fixtures against RGC 1404 at the Arms Park on Sunday.
