Cardiff Blues today announced the cancellation of this weekends planned home fixture against financially troubled Rotherham.
As reported in the press, the Yorkshire club were forced to pull out of the Middlesex Sevens and their first friendly of the season against Ulster at late notice.
Blues Chief Executive, Robert Norster said,
Following discussions with Rotherham officials we have unfortunately been left with no option other than to take this action. Rotherham have expressed their apologies for what were until last week unforeseen circumstances and we sincerely hope that this early cancellation prevents any further disruption to our supporters' plans.
The next fixture for the Blues is the final pre-season firendly against Leicester Tigers at Welford Road on Saturday 28th August.
