Bank Holiday Fun Day at Sophia Gardens

28th April 2006

Glamorgan Cricket are urging youngsters to support the Dragons as they play their first match at home in the 2006 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy.

The match in question sees Ireland visiting Sophia Gardens on May 1st, which is also the day of the much anticipated Family Fun Day at the Cardiff ground when all kids go free!

Cardiff Blues players and coaches will be in attendance to help create a fantastic day out at Sophia Gardens for Glamorgan’s first home match of the season. The players are all hoping for some loud support from supporters, especially the next generation of Dragon fans.

As well as free entry, there will be loads of free games and activities for the kids to enjoy around the ground, put on by the likes of Cardiff Blues, The Army, Braces Bread, David Lloyd Leisure, Cardiff City F.C, VUE Cinemas, S4C, The Cardiff Devils and many more, as well as cricket coaching hosted by Glamorgan Cricket.

Gates open at 9.00am, with the activities getting under way at 9.30am and going on until the interval at about 2.15pm when we have catching competitions, with prizes to be won, and a mascot race to end the Fun Day proceedings.

The match against Ireland gets underway at 10.45am, so after the fun and games have finished the kids can spend the rest of the afternoon cheering the team on, hopefully to a Glamorgan Dragons victory.

Adult tickets cost £15 per person and all children will be allowed in free of charge.*
