Adams and international stars available to face Pau

First Team News | 2nd December 2019

Josh Adams is in line to make his Cardiff Blues debut during Saturday’s vital European Challenge Cup showdown with Pau (8pm).

The Wales wing, who joined the Blues from Worcester Warriors in the summer, is yet to take his regional bow following his exploits at the Rugby World Cup, where he was top try scorer.

But after taking his international strike-rate to 12 tries in 22 games against the Barbarians on Saturday, he has now linked up with Wales’ Capital Region and is available for selection.

Cardiff Blues head coach John Mulvihill said: “It is great to get all of our international boys back in this week.

“Josh is in our environment properly for the first time and Dillon Lewis, Seb Davies, Tomos Williams, Jarrod Evans and Owen Lane are all back and available to face Pau after last week with Wales.

“Filo Paulo will also take a full part in training this week, so we are getting some numbers back as we approach a really busy and important part of the season.”

Cardiff Blues welcome Paul Tito’s Pau to the Arms Park on the back of three wins in their last four matches, however after losing to Leicester Tigers in Round Two of the competition, they are acutely aware of the importance of winning again on Saturday.

Pau have also recorded one win and one defeat, and this first match of a festive double header is likely to define both teams’ European campaigns.
