Former Brynteg Comprehensive pupil Josh Navidi played for Wales Under 20’s in all of the 2010 Under 20’s Six Nations Tournament and lead the Wales Under 20’s to victory against France at Newport.
The former Glamorgan Wanderers Openside had previously played for the Under 20’s in the World Championship and made his senior Blues debut against Heineken Cup champions, Leinster at the RDS in 2009, coming on as a replacement for Scott Morgan. Josh earned himself a start against London Irish in the LV=Cup match in Cardiff the following month.
Navidi has impressed rugby coaching staff and was named as one of Cardiff Blues Vice-Captain for the 2012/13 season. In January 2013 he was selected in the 35 man Wales squad for the 2013 Six Nations Championship. He went on to be named the Players’ Player of the Year at the Cardiff Blues end of season awards in 2013. Later on in the same month Navidi claimed his first cap for Wales on their 2nd test match on the Japan tour.
