A product of the Rhondda Valley, Bradley Thyer represented the successful Rhondda Schools squad and went on to gain international honours with Wales at youth level.

Drafted into the Cardiff Blues Academy, Thyer was given an allocation to the Pontypridd senior squad during the 2012/13 season, impressing as a strong scrummaging tighthead prop.

Studying at the University of Glamorgan, Thyer also represented the college rugby team and during the spring and summer of 2013 was called up into the Wales Under-20 squad.

Thyer made his senior Cardiff Blues debut in the LV=Cup clash with Scarlets at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park in November 2014.
