Gavin Evans signed from the Scarlets at the end of the 2008/09 season after appearing over 75 times for the West Wales region since making his debut in 2003.
In the autumn of 2006 Evans was included in the Wales squad where he made his international debut appearance from the bench against the Pacific Islands.
Evans has previous caps at Wales Under-19 and Under-21 levels, and was part of the Under-21 Grand Slam winning team in 2005. Evans missed out on Wales's two-test tour to Australia in 2007 due to a shoulder injury but in June was named in Gareth Jenkins's 41-man preliminary Rugby World Cup summer training squad.
Evans has gone on to become a fundamental part of the Cardiff Blues attacking backline. He was named vice-captain of the Blues in 2012 and is now closing in on a century of appearances for the region.
