Alex Cuthbert took up rugby at Hartpury College at the age of 16 after previously spending his time playing football and show jumping. He was first spotted by Wales playing for a Marauders Sevens team in the Middlesex Sevens where he was invited to train with the Wales Sevens squad.
Cuthbert came to Wales to study Sports and Business Development at UWIC where he played for them in Swalec Division 1 before graduating to the Blues Academy and continuing his rugby education with Cardiff RFC.
Now a regular on the right wing for the Blues, the 2010/11 season saw him picked by the national set-up during the 2012 Six Nations Grand Slam. Cuthbert was awarded Cardiff Blues Player-of-the-Year in 2013.
A prolific try scorer, Cuthbert assisted Wales to win the 2013 Six Nations title and was picked for the British & Irish Lions 2013 tour of Australia, scoring a try in the First Test.
Cuthbert was again among the tries for Blues during the 2013/14 season - with his superb team try against Edinburgh nominated for several awards - and he was named on the Wales touring squad for the 2014 tour to South Africa.
