Blacker and Jones bound for Dubai and Cape Town

Cardiff Blues' Ben Jones and Dane Blacker have been included in Richie Pugh's Wales squad for the opening two legs of the World Rugby Sevens Series in Dubai and Cape Town.

The half back duo are two of four Cardiff Blues players included in the wider training squad, alongside Corey Howells and Daf Smith.

There is also strong links to Wales' Capital Region in Wales Sevens' core squad, which includes former players Owen Jenkins and Ben Roach.

Jay Jones and Cai Devine are also included, who have represented the Blues at age grade and A team levels respectively.

In the build-up to Dubai, Pugh's side will have faced Ireland and Scotland in training matches, as they prepare for a daunting opening pool fixture against world champions, New Zealand, at The Sevens Stadium.

Captained by Luke Treharne, Wales have also been drawn against Spain and USA in Pool C, with the opening clash against New Zealand set to kick off at 05.22 GMT (09.22 local time) on Friday 30 November.
