Roberts returns for B&I Cup action as Cardiff Blues PS host Leinster 'A' at Sardis Road

12th January 2018

Jack Roberts returns to action on Saturday, as Cardiff Blues Premiership Select host Leinster 'A' in the British and Irish Cup at Sardis Road (KO 2.30pm)

The former Leicester Tigers centre has been sidelined with injury since the Anglo Welsh Cup clash against Newcastle Falcons in November.

Roberts is named at outside centre, where he is partnered with Merthyr’s Josh Martin, who scored a sensational try against Newcastle Emlyn in the WRU National Cup last weekend.

Blindside flanker, Shane Lewis-Hughes, will captain the side and is part of the back row alongside James Both and Alun Lawrence.

Pat Lewis, Dafydd Smith and Matthew Billen make up the back three, while outside half Ben Thomas links up with Neath’s Scott Gibson at half back.

Welsh international Scott Andrews is named at tighthead prop, with youngsters Corey Domachowski and Ethan Lewis also lining up in the front row.

James Down joins Ben Murphy in the second row to complete the pack, while Cardiff Blues Academy’s Keiron Assiratti, Rhys Carre, Max Llewellyn and Iestyn Harris are named amongst the replacements.

Justin Burnell's side travel to Bristol next week for the final match of this season's British and Irish Cup pool stage.
