Scully remains Captain America

5th January 2018

Cardiff Blues favourite Blaine Scully will remain USA Rugby captain as they defend their Americas Rugby Championship crown next month.

The 29-year-old skippered the Eagles November Tests and continues in the role under new head coach Gary Gold.

USA went undefeated in last season’s Americas Rugby Championship and will be aiming to repeat the feat when they kick-off the 2018 campaign against Argentina on February 3.

"I think we have an exciting group of players who are keen to perform at the ARC and put themselves forward as strong options for the program moving forward." said Head Coach Gary Gold.

"I'm sure the other teams see an opportunity to upset us, that added pressure will make our planning and preparation even more vital."
