Robinson an out and out seven - Wilson

19th September 2017

Danny Wilson was pleased to add "out and out seven" Olly Robinson to his squad on a short-term loan from Bristol.

It was announced earlier today that the 26-year-old had linked up with Wales’ Capital Region following injuries to Sam Warburton, Ellis Jenkins and James Botham.

Wilson worked with Robinson, the son of former British & Irish Lions flanker and England and Scotland coach Andy, while he was forwards coach at Bristol and believes he is an ideal fit for the Blues

Wilson said: “Olly is an out and out seven. I coached Olly at Bristol as did Matt Sherratt. He played for Bristol on the weekend but at the moment they have quite a lot of sevens, with Jack Lam returning.

“They have four sevens fit at the moment so it made sense for Olly and it makes sense for us. We have Scott Andrews out on loan to Bath and it is a one in, one out scenario.

“It was a good opportunity to get Scott some rugby, with Bath struggling for tight-heads and that has given us the opportunity to bring in a loan player in a position we are short with Sam Warburton and Ellis Jenkins’ injuries.”

Robinson linked up with the Blues on Monday and is now available for selection should he be called upon.
