Eight Cardiff Blues selected for Wales Under 20's for Italy opener

Eight Cardiff Blues players have been named in Wales Under 20's squad for their opening RBS 6 Nations clash with Italy on Friday. (KO 6.00pm GMT)

The Blues' Kieron Assiratti and Morgan Sieniawski are two of only three squad players with previous international experience at this level, with up to 20 players in line to make their debut for Jason Strange's side at Milan's Stadio Giovanni Mari.

Dane Blacker and Ben Jones, who have featured for Cardiff Blues in the Anglo-Welsh Cup this season, will start at half-back, while Rhys Carre lines-up alongside Assiratti and Newport Gwent Dragons' Ellis Shipp in the front row. 

Cardiff Blues trio Corrie Tarrant, Aled Ward and Cameron Lewis are named on the replacements bench. Cardiff Met's Alex Dombrandt also features as starting lock.

The following Cardiff Blues players were unavailable for selection: Shane Lewis-Hughes, Tom Mably, Callum Bradbury (injured), Rhun Williams (regional commitment), James Bothan and Owen Lane (Wales Sevens commitments)

The clash with Italy will be shown live on S4C's Y Clwb Rygbi on Friday. Tickets for Wales' home fixtures at Parc Eirias against England and Ireland are now on sale.
