Warburton to be assessed

30th April 2016

Sam Warburton will be assessed over the weekend after sustaining a shoulder injury during Cardiff Blues' 40-27 defeat to the Ospreys.

The flanker picked up the bump following a heavy collision at the Principality Stadium and was forced off after 28 minutes.

He will now be assessed by Cardiff Blues medics over the coming days.

Head coach Danny Wilson said: “Sam will now go for assessment to find out exactly how he is. He tried to play on but was in too much pain and he struggled. So the right decision was for him to go off.

“It’s a shoulder injury, I don’t think it’s particularly bad but it’s something that will need assessing and then we will see how it is.”
