Four-midable Jones fires Under-16s South

15th February 2016

Captain Jay Jones grabbed four tries as Cardiff Blues South Under-16s crushed RGC Under-16s 53-10 at Ruthin RFC on Sunday.

Back row Jones was the star as he crossed the whitewash four times in the second half as Cardiff Blues scored nine tries in total in an impressive team display.

The home side had taken a tenth minute lead, courtesy of a try from centre Mathew Buchanan, but after that it was the visitors who took complete control.

Full back Ioan Davies levelled the match on 17 minutes before flanker Fergus Hodgeson scored for a 14-5 lead at the break.

The second half saw tighthead Adam Conway cross on 37 minutes before Jones scored a 26-minute hat-trick – with loosehead prop Joe Melhuish also getting in on the scoring act in-between.

Jones scored the final try in the last minute to cement a personal triumph and big win for Cardiff Blues Under-16s South.
