Sam Warburton admits he feels he owes Cardiff Blues a big performance as he makes his return to BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park this Saturday afternoon.
Warburton is back in the No.7 jersey as Cardiff Blues face champions Glasgow Warriors in the Guinness PRO12.
The Wales skipper admits he is feeling fresh after a two-week break following the Rugby World Cup campaign.
And he is ready to fire as Cardiff Blues look to return to winning ways as they return home.
He said: “I feel really good. Four years ago I came back (from the Rugby World Cup) and was straight back in and didn’t feel like I had a break.
“This year Danny (Wilson) told me to take two weeks off so when I came back I was ready to go.
“Before I would have been down the gym doing extras, but now when I get time off I rest.
“It’s as important as training to get the rest so I really appreciate what Danny has done and he understands what the boys have been through mentally. I look forward to owing the Blues a big performance now.
“I really feel like I owe it to the Blues,” he added. “When you have been away for as long as I have, I haven’t played for six months for the team, I want to get back in a Cardiff Blues shirt.
“I love being in camp with Wales, but it’s good to come back here now. I’m still in the Whatsapp group with the boys here so you keep up with what is going on and the chat.
“It’s been really positive since Danny came in. I’ve looked forward to coming back and there have been some changes with new coaches and a brand new gym. The days are structured differently took which is a new stimulus and new voices.
“I was actually a little bit nervous to come back in. I haven’t been here for so long so I was nervous, which is a good thing for me!
“I want to get a good run of games in now for Cardiff Blues and just keep going.”
