Jones leads Blues in Premiership 7s Series

12th August 2015

Wales Sevens international Lewis Jones will lead Cardiff Blues in the Welsh stage of the Singha Premiership Rugby 7s Series at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park this Saturday afternoon.

The home of the Cardiff Blues will host the opening round of the highly successful 7s Series that has taken English and Welsh rugby by storm in recent years, with all the fun of fast summer rugby kicking off at 3.15pm.

The Singha Premiership Rugby 7s Series is the only competition this season where you will see the 12 English Premiership Rugby clubs taking on the four Welsh Regions.

And the action starts this weekend as Cardiff Blues look to repeat the success of last season, when they won the Welsh leg, and book one of the two places up for grabs for finals day at Twickenham Stoop on Friday, August 28.

Scrum half Jones, who made his debut for Wales Sevens earlier this year in the World Series, leads a talented and exciting 12-man squad that features a number of players who played in the 7s Series last season.

Seb Davies, Ben Roach, Elis Wyn Benham and Owen Jenkins all return for more 7s action while Garyn Smith and Jarrod Evans are included after a string of summer campaigns with Wales Under-20s.

A total of 10 players out of the 12-man squad are Academy members or graduates with youngsters like Mike Hale and Owen Lane the latest young stars keen to impress in front of the BT Sport cameras.

Tickets for the Premiership Rugby 7s Series at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park remain on sale NOW priced at £10 for adults and £5 for Season Ticket holders and all under-16s.
