Scrum half Knoyle excited by fresh start

27th July 2015

Upbeat scrum half Tavis Knoyle admits it is a 'fresh start for us all' as Cardiff Blues prepare to launch the new Guinness PRO12 season in less than two months under new Head Coach Danny Wilson.

Knoyle made the move to BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park last season from Gloucester and enjoyed a strong second half of the campaign as he made a total of 19 appearances.

However, the Wales international No.9 concedes it was a difficult year for everyone at Cardiff Blues and now is eager to start afresh as he teams up with Wilson for a second spell.

“I’m really looking forward to the new season and everyone is up for it and ready,” he said.

“There was a lot of change last season, but now Danny has come in with Graham (Steadman) and it’s exciting for us all and an exciting time to be here.

“I know Danny from my time at Scarlets and he was always brilliant with me. He knows exactly what he wants and is great with the forwards too.

“On a personal level, after Christmas I played some games and I need to build on that,” he added.

“I even got a game at 12 against Newport Gwent Dragons in Europe. I enjoyed it and it was unexpected.

“I just want to be playing; it can be a short career so I’m looking forward to getting involved this season.

“The more you play the more confident you become and it’s a fresh start for us all as we look to kick on under new leadership. We’re all looking forward to the start of the new season.”
