The fixtures are out for the new GUINNESS PRO12 season
Director of Rugby Mark Hammett faces the Italian Job on day one of the new season after the GUINNESS PRO12 fixtures confirmed Cardiff Blues will travel to Zebre on the opening weekend.
New boss Hammett - known throughout the rugby world as Hammer - will join Blues this summer after finishing his current role at Super 15 giants the Hurricanes.
And his first league game in charge will see Cardiff Blues look to avenge a double defeat to the Italians last season as they play at Stadio XXV Aprile in Parma on the weekend of September 5/6/7.
The first home league game of the season at the BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park arrives a week later when PRO12 finalists Glasgow Warriors arrive in the city on the weekend of September 12/13/14.
Ulster are next up at home before a mouth-watering opening month of games concludes as Hammett's squad travel to the RDS in Dublin to face reigning GUINNESS PRO12 champions Leinster Rugby on September 26/27/28.
Blues face a Welsh derby double header with Dragons over the Christmas and New Year period with a home game during the festive season before a trip to Rodney Parade to kick-off 2015.
The close to the season will see Blues face Welsh derby games with Ospreys and Scarlets in April and May before big a final day of the campaign clash with Zebre at the BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park.

'TACKLE' - the first-ever joint community rugby initiative between the four professional teams in Wales has been launched (today Weds 19th October) bringing an inspiring new rugby education programme to young people in Communities First areas.
