The sell-out was not lost on Director of Rugby Davies who was quick to hail the crowd for braving the wind and driving rain to create a partisan atmosphere.
"We all dug in today and I thought the crowd did too and were absolutely brilliant," he said.
"It's just a shame we couldn't give them a win. We gave them a great performance and didn't quite get the result we wanted.
"We have got to rely on other people now, but with what has gone on this year, and the way the squad has been disrupted on times, it's great credit to the players that we have still sort of got an opportunity. We will wait and see what happens this weekend.
"Before the game today we had put ourselves in a good position. We have now got to build on this now for the rest of the season, there is a heck of a lot to play for still.
"If we are in the quarter-finals then that is brilliant. It has been a campaign that we can remember with some satisfaction no matter what."
