The Heineken Cup now returns with Pool 2 wide open with Blues, Exeter Chiefs, Toulon and Glasgow Warriors separated by a point after two games.
And Davies knows the big double header with Glasgow over the coming weeks is vital as Blues look to kick on after stunning Toulon last time out.
He said: "The next two weeks in the Heineken Cup will go a long way to deciding our European fate. It's vital we start strongly and get another crucial victory at the Arms Park.
"Our win over Toulon will always live long in the memory. It was a famous day for our region. Now it is vital we build on that result because the pool is wide open after two games and every team is chasing top spot.
"Glasgow are a good side and can be very direct," he added. "They drive lineouts well and come around the corner with the big forwards. But they have also got good hard running backs and threatening half backs. It's a tough challenge.
"They are a club that have been getting better for a long time. Sean Lineen started it and Gregor Townsend has built on. If you look at the squad, they are packed with internationals and have been one of the top four teams in the Rabo.
"They have been consistent and are a tough team to beat. Over the last five or six years they have built it up and will now want to challenge in Europe.
"But we have prepared as well as we can and we have got to stop them playing and ensure we play ourselves. We are excited by the game and what we can achieve."
