Thank you Leicester Tigers

10th January 2007

The Cardiff Blues would like to thank Leicester Tigers President, Roy Jackson for his kind invitation to Robbie Davies to watch the Heineken Cup match between Leicester Tigers and Cardiff Blues on Saturday at Welford Road.

Robbie Davies is a young 22 year old hooker who suffered a serious neck injury during a freak accident at the scrummage whilst playing for Brecon RFC last season. The injury has left Robbie wheelchair bound and he has since been a regular outpatient to the Rookwood Spinal Injuries Hospital in Cardiff where he has undergone physiotherapy and impulse therapy to stimulate nerves and muscles.

The home fixture between both teams was played at the Millennium Stadium and the Cardiff Blues were delighted to have Matt Hampson and his family as their guests. Matt, a young Leicester prop was also tragically injured in 2005 during a training accident which left him paralysed from the neck down.

Both parties would like to thank the supporters of both the Tigers and the Blues for their generosity in raising funds to make sure that Robbie and Matt get the best possible treatment.
