Existing routes have also been enhanced, with more flights and improved journey times. The route to Palma, which currently runs four times a week, will become a daily service as part of the upgrade. The weekly service to Jersey will soon operate three times every week.
Passengers will also be able to find more regular flights to Faro, with the frequency increased from weekly to four-times weekly. One-way fares for flights to Palma, Jersey and Faro begin at £29.99, £24.99 and £29.99 respectively.
Business travellers have also been recognised as part of bmibaby's new offering, with the first of the two daily flights to Belfast International jetting off at 7am. This should allow those with business commitments to arrive in Belfast in time to honour pre-arranged meetings.
David Hodge, the airline's marketing director, said: "Bmibaby remains committed to offering low cost fares to many European destinations from Cardiff International Airport. The introduction of a new service to Murcia will offer the people of South Wales the opportunity to access the Costa Calida and the fast developing La Manga strip."
