Blues Brothers Sign Contract Extensions

Cardiff Blues ‘Brothers in Arms’, Jamie and Nicky Robinson have both extended their contracts and will remain a key element of the Blues threequarter line for the foreseeable future.

Speaking of the signings Director of Coaching, David Young said;

‘I’m delighted that both Jamie and Nicky are to continue their impressive careers here at the Arms Park. Both players are extremely popular with our fans not just because of their undoubted abilities, but because they are True Blues’. Jamie and Nicky have always given everything for the team and it is fitting that during the contract Jamie will be able to celebrate his tenth year at the Arms Park.

The Ysgol Gyfun Glantaf products both came through the youth system at the Arms Park and have gone on to be prolific scorers. Twenty six year old Jamie is the top try scorer for the Blues having scored 22 tries in 64 appearances for the region and was the Celtic League’s top try scorer in the 2003/04 season. His excellent try scoring record has also carried on in his appearances for Wales scoring 6 tries in 17 appearances for his country including an excellent individual try against France last Saturday.

Younger brother Nicky is the top points scorer for the region with 476 points including 15 Tries and 7 drop goals. The skilful twenty five year old has made 78 appearances for the Blues and is second only to John Yapp on 80 for the most appearances for the region.
