27th March 2007

A special coaching evening for backs coaches will be held by the Cardiff Blues on Monday the 2nd of April at Pentyrch RFC.

The coaching evening will cover all aspects of back play and is a free event open to coaches of all levels throughout the region.

The evening will start at 6.30pm and last until 8pm, it will involve both indoor and outdoor work and there will also be light refreshments provided in the clubhouse at the end of the evening.

The Coaching clinics have gone from strength to strength and have covered a variety of techniques used in the professional game.

“The coaching clinics have been of great help to the coaches at Cardiff University and we have learnt a lot from attending the evenings.”

“The boys have been training hard in preparation for the match. We are the current holders so with be looking to hold on to the trophy.”

Richard Hodges, the Blues Community Rugby Manager said.

“We have held coaching evening throughout the region at Pontypridd RFC, Glamorgan Wanderers, Cardiff RFC, Taffs Well and Beddau and have received a great response wherever we have visited.”

“The coaches who attend have the opportunity to ask professional coaches questions on tactics or techniques or whatever areas they fell they need to improve on. They take a lot of knowledge back to their clubs which can only benefit the players that they coach week in week out.”
