ASDA and SOS Kit Aid team up and get dressed!

16th March 2007

ASDA and the International Rugby Board, assisted by the Welsh Rugby Union kicked off a new initiative this week at ASDA’s Cardiff’s Coryton store.

ASDA, the proud community partners of the Welsh Rugby Union, are introducing SOS Kit Aid to all their stores in Wales, a great scheme run through-out the world involving the donation of old rugby kit to the most needy areas of the world.

SOS recycle perfectly re-usable rugby kit which is sent to help develop junior rugby in emerging rugby nations across the World.

Robert Sidoli kicked off the SOS Kit Aid & ASDA partnership in style, donating the Welsh rugby teams’ kit from the last ten years to raise awareness for the campaign.

He said: “This is a very worthy cause, and it is fantastic to see ASDA, our community partners, on board. What better way to increase the amount of Kit SOS Kit Aid are sending out than by partnering with ASDA, who are present through-out the country”

An ASDA spokesperson said:

"This is a great opportunity for people to donate their old kit to a good cause. There must be hundreds of shirts sat in wardrobes picking up dust, when they could be on someone's back running round a rugby pitch.

"We'd encourage people to dig out all their old rugby shirts and bring them into store so that kids in other countries can put them to good use."

Collection bins will be available in all ASDA stores in Wales from the 15th March – please go in to your local ASDA store and donate generously!
