Speaking at the event, Cuthbert said,

"It's fantastic to see so many youngsters down here enjoying playing rugby."

"I think Tag rugby is a great way of introducing children to the game and it looks like a lot of fun."

"The Blues are very pro active in pushing rugby participation in the region and it's good to know that the success of the Grand Slam is filtering all the way down to the mini and juniors."

The annual tag festival has gone from strength to strength. The four-day event for children aged between six and eleven, sees over 150 schools across Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan, RCT, Merthyr and South Powys taking part.

Development Officer Nadine Griffiths added:

"It's nice to see all the kids are enjoying themselves down at the Arms Park."

"It's always been a great tradition to have the end of year festival here, where we have hundreds of children coming along."

"They have a chance to play on the hallowed turf and enjoy some Tag rugby."

"The festival is run over four days, two days for the schools in the north of the region and two days for the schools in the south."

"The teams have travelled from as far as St Brides in the Vale to Knighton in Powys."

"We have over 150 schools in all down here and I'd like to thank all the volunteers and teachers who have helped out."

"Obviously the Grand Slam has helped raise awareness and participation levels in rugby, which is great to see."
