Young Announces Team To Play Pontypridd

18th August 2005

Cardiff Blues Director of Coaching, David Young, has today announced the team to play against Pontypridd at Sardis Road on Saturday at 2:30pm.

“Everybody has been training hard over the summer and we’re all looking forward to the season to start. The pre season friendly games are always a good opportunity for us to take a closer look at some of our players and for them to get rid of some of the rustiness. It’s sure to be a tough game up in Pontypridd as it always has been.” David Young said.

Rhys Williams will be Captain for the game after taking over from Martyn Williams this week. “I can’t wait to get back on the playing field after all the training this summer. To be selected as Captain is a huge honour for me and I hope we get off to a winning start”. Williams said.

There has already been a lot of interest in the game that comes eleven days after the Blues held a very successful training clinic at Sardis Road in which over 130 coaches from the region attended.
