Team announcement delayed but injuries looking better

30th December 2004

There was good news from the Blues' camp after this morning's training session.

Several players with recent injuries reported no ill-effects after another thorough work-out with David Young, Geraint John and Richard Webster.

Tom Shanklin, Craig Quinnell and Richard Smith are all likely to be available for selection when the team to face the Ospreys is finalised on Friday afternoon. There was also good news about Rhys Williams and Nick Macleod who had been doubtful after leg strains picked up in Monday's game against the Dragons.

Assistant coach Geraint John said, "We've had a few worries during the week but fortunately it looks as if we will have several of the walking wounded ready for Saturday if required."

Meanwhile Blues' officials have reacted with incredulity to a press report about a possible signing of a winger from Scotland.

"That's the first I've heard of it," said David Young.
