Movember launched in Cardiff with a shave down at Windsor Barbers, Windsor Lane, heralding Moustache Season in Wales.

The Men of the United Kingdom are once again preparing to donate their upper lips to Movember, the 30 day journey of Mo'mentous moustachery and grooming glory. The charity initiative which aims to raise money and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate and testicular cancer, has opened for the 2011 season of moustache finery.

To get involved Mo Bros are asked to register online at www.movember.com and start the month of November clean shaven. Their emerging moustache will then become a ribbon for men's health and the Mo Bros of the United Kingdom will become walking talking billboards for the 30 days of Movember. The growth of a new Mo inspires conversations about the often overlooked issues of men's health.

Last year 111,825 men took part across the UK raising £11.7 million. These incredible fundraising efforts have funded programmes run directly by Movember and our men's health partners The Prostate Cancer Charity and the Institute of Cancer Research.

Cardiff Blues Centre Dafydd Hewitt said, "The Movember campaign is a great imitative. Loads of the boys were involved last season, growing moustaches and beards and I know they are looking forward to doing it again this year."

"Although some of the effort can be comical, it highlights a lot of awareness regarding men's health and we are happy to support it and are encouraging our supporters to get involved also."

Since its humble beginnings in Melbourne, Australia in 2003, Movember has grown to become a truly global movement inspiring more than 1.1 million men to participate. Just eight years on there are official campaigns running this year in the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Spain.
